A centuries old cult still has one person doing their bidding against the women of Pennsylvania.
I love a good thriller--one that makes your heart hammer in your chest and gets your adrenaline going. When I was offered the chance to review Sinner by Christopher Graves, I jumped at the chance.
A good thriller is one you can read in one sitting, which is exactly how I read Sinner. Once I started it I couldn't really stop; I wanted to know what was going to happen next as the story pulled me along on a wild ride from New Jersey to Pennsylvania.
The main bad guy might have been a tad too formulaic for my tastes, and there were elements of the story that felt contrived and predictable. The ending was left open ended, and while a little bit of wondering goes a long way with thrillers, this one left me feeling somewhat deflated, but not unsatisfied. Overall, the cult aspects of the story were Sinner's saving grace, adding spice to what would have otherwise been an average thriller.
