Black Spot Books, Release Date: September 4, 2018 5 / 5 Stars - Review by Ink
A newspaper editor begins a social experiment using his newspaper and embedded advertising.
After finishing Bury the Lead I had a deep and unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach--the hallmark of a great thriller that sticks with you and lingers in the back of your mind.
Windwalker's writing delivers this unsettling feeling with flair and style, and with writing that is witty and biting as it expertly weaves together today's media manic with the protagonist's precarious metal condition. The storyline was pertinent to what is going on in society today, and the fragmented approach to developing the narrative is eerily reminiscent of today's familiar journalistic patterns, giving it a gut-wrenching, home-hitting capacity. The ending was deliciously dark--and opened the door imagination that left me with a surreal feeling that lingered long after I finished the book.
